During the Pandemic Period, TPED Promotion Investment in WNT by Online

Since the beginning of 2020, the Province of WNT has had a Regional Economic Promotion Team (TPED), which in an organizational structure, this team is chaired by the WNT Provincial Secretary and the WNT Governor as the TPED supervisor.

TPED has a number of tasks such as planning a strategy to promote investment, trade and tourism in WNT with relevant stakeholders. In addition, coordinating and recommending policies in the context of implementing strategies for promoting investment, trade and tourism in WNT, as well as facilitating the preparation of projects or business fields to be promoted to investors, financial institutions, and / or other parties.

"Even though during the Covid-19 condition, investment and trade promotion activities were still carried out by the WNT Province TPED, namely through an online format as a new normal way," said Achris Sarwani, Head of the Representative Office of Bank Indonesia for the Province of WNT who is also Deputy Chair TPED WNT Province last week.

There are for investment and trade promotion activities that have been carried out recently, such as investment promotion activities in collaboration with Indonesian Embassy in Brussels concurrently with Luxembourg and the European Union. The activity was held on early June 2020, and was attended by Achris Sarwani, WNT Provincial Government Representative, Indonesian Ambassador for Brussels, representatives of investment projects in WNT, namely KEK Mandalika or Mandalika Special Economic Zone, Kawasan Tiga Gili, Samota Area and Global Hub Kayangan and other related parties.

Investment and Trade Promotion Activities in collaboration with the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Abu Dhabi for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Middle East have also been carried out on 10 June.

According to Achris Sarwani, the activities were carried out in order to encourage investment in European countries to the WNT Province, considiring that WNT's economic conditions are relatively stable despite facing pressure due to the Covid-19 pandemic.

"In the first quarter of 2020, WNT Province was still able to grow by 3.19% (yoy), higher than Indonesia's economic growth which was recorded at 2.97% (yoy). Inflation throughout 2020 is estimated to be stable and low, which shows the relatively stable economic condition of WNT Province" he said.

In addition, said Achris, the economic structure of WNT Province itself in the first quarter of 2020 was supported by the agriculture, forestry and fisheries sectors (21.38%), mining and excavation (16.77%), trade (14.64%), construction ( 8.89%) and transportation (7.06%). The accommodation, food and beverage sector in the first quarter of 2020 only contributed 1.66% of the total GRDP.

"However, the growth of this sector is still very potential in line with the development of tourism sector in WNT Province. The development of tourism sector in WNT itself is very promising, driven by WNT's natural wealth in the form of mountains, beaches, and underwater life and not forgetting the government's support by establishing the Mandalika Special Economic Zone as a National Tourism Strategic Area, " he added.

Furthermore, Bank Indonesia and the WNT Province TPED would continue to encourage efforts to increase foreign investment and WNT export trade with various countries. From the investment and trade promotion activities that have been carried out, "The Indonesian Embassy looks enthusiastic to promote investment and trade in WNT to potential investors / buyers to be able to invest and conduct trade transactions with WNT Province," added Achris Sarwani.
